Troop Organizer & the Troop Organizer Sync Assistant browser extension

Troop Organizer is a management application for Scouting units, operated by Fresh Strategies LLC. This policy explains what data the application and its optional browser extension handle. Troop Organizer is not affiliated with or endorsed by Scouting America / the Boy Scouts of America.

The Troop Organizer application

Troop Organizer stores the information a unit chooses to manage in it — member profiles, households, events, attendance, health-form status, and unit finances. This data belongs to each unit (tenant) and is isolated from other units. We use it only to provide the service to that unit and its members.

• Children's data: scouts under 13 have no direct login; their information is managed by a linked parent or guardian.
• Sensitive data: medical documents and restricted personal fields are encrypted and visible only to the specific unit roles a unit authorizes, with every access logged.
• Payments: online payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and never stored on our servers.
• Data requests: a parent/guardian or unit administrator may request correction or deletion of a member's personal information; verified deletion requests are honored promptly.

The Sync Assistant browser extension

The Sync Assistant is an optional convenience tool. When you are already signed in to my.Scouting in your own browser, and you click the extension yourself, it fetches your unit's own roster and training export files from your active my.Scouting session and hands them to your Troop Organizer import.

• It never collects, stores, or transmits your Scouting username, password, or any login credential. It works only within your already-authenticated session.
• It runs only when you click it — there is no background activity or automatic data collection.
• The only place it sends data is your own Troop Organizer account at app.trooporganizer.com, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It does not send your data to us, to analytics, or to any third party.
• Its browser permissions are limited to my.scouting.org and app.trooporganizer.com only.
• If you prefer, it can simply download the file for you to upload manually — the app never depends on the extension.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers needed to run the product (cloud hosting, Stripe for payments, and email delivery), and where required by law.
